2nd & 3rd DUI Offense

DUI Defense Lawyer for Lake County

If you have been charged with your second or third DUI offense, you face license revocation and a felony charge on your criminal record. Prison time, heavy fines and a long probation period are also common consequences of multiple DUI offenses. Jerald Novak & Associates is committed to helping clients minimize the penalties as much as possible.

As an experienced drunk driving defense attorney, I give my clients the best possible chance for success by preparing an aggressive defense on their behalf and using creative techniques tailored to their unique situations. I also stay current on new case law and regularly attend DUI defense seminars in order to perfect my strategies. My clients appreciate the dedication I put into every one of my cases. Driver’s License Suspension and Revocation

If you are a multiple DUI offender, you will have your driver’s license suspended or revoked depending on the circumstances of your case. A suspended driver’s license can be reinstated for a fee after the suspension period is over. If your license was revoked, you must attend a Secretary of State Reinstatement Hearing, at which time you will try to convince the Secretary of State’s office that your alcohol problem is resolved. I routinely assist clients in regaining their driving privileges.

Felony Charges

Often, multiple DUI offenses will lead to a felony charge, especially if the incident included aggravating circumstances:

  • Driving with a revoked or suspended license
  • Driving without insurance
  • Causing a crash resulting in bodily injury or harm

I have successfully handled all levels of DUI charges. During your preliminary hearing, I use my years of experience and knowledge to mitigate the circumstances and prevent a felony charge. If you are indeed charged with a felony, I fight aggressively to eliminate or reduce your prison bond.

Sometimes felony DUI cases come down to one word, or one inconsistency in the police testimony. I easily spot these opportunities and use them to my clients’ advantage.
